Hi Loves! We are officially in 2024! 2024 is the year to take risks, let go of hurts and pains, and open your heart to the abundance of love and wealth coming your way. This is the first blog I have ever written and I feel nervous but empowered because I am being vulnerable. Will my readers like what I have to say, will they feel connected, will they feel safe? Well, the only way to find out is to put myself out there. I have never really considered myself a great writer, but that is a part of the journey of changing that mindset and perception of myself. With that, I introduce you to the Love You First blog, featuring my words of the month!
I am really excited to get into January’s word of the month—reflection. Reflection is defined as a “serious thought or consideration.” How often do you get to sit down and reflect on your past, or reflect on your month, or even your day? We live in a society where we are consistently on the move. We never take the moment to sit and pause. Since I started my self-love journey, I have been able to intentionally reflect on how I have loved myself, which, it turned out, I didn’t love myself at all. I had always put others before myself because I thought if I loved them the way I wanted to be loved, they would love me the way I deserved. But, if you asked me what love I thought I deserved, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. However, since reflecting on my past, I now realize my worth and value. I needed to discover, to fully know how awesome and wonderful I am. I needed to understand that I deserve all the love in the world, and that love begins with me. As I reflect on when I started this journey back in 2021, each day I love myself a little more. I have learned to accept who I am and truly love my authentic self.
I encourage you, since we are entering a new year, to grab a pen and paper and reflect on the past year. What is your proudest accomplishment? What lessons did you learn? What are ways you can celebrate all of your achievements? Take time for yourself, because you deserve it.
Also remember, to always love…you…first!
